Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise High-quality brand recommended (e.g., Hellmann's)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt Greek yogurt adds probiotics and tang.
Flavoring Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice Fresh is key, about 1 lime.
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic Or 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder.
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder Adds warmth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin Enhances earthy notes.
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust for desired spice level.
  • Salt and pepper To taste.

Method
 

Mix the Base
  1. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise and sour cream (or Greek yogurt) and mix until blended.
Add Flavor
  1. Squeeze in the lime juice, add minced garlic, chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, and season with salt and pepper.
Whisk it Together
  1. Whisk the ingredients until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency. Use a food processor for an ultra-smooth texture if preferred.
Taste and Adjust
  1. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more lime juice or spices to your preference.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. Make ahead for best flavor. Can double or triple the recipe for larger gatherings. Check mayo expiry date for freshness.
